Big Boy

Tosh just had (9/29) his 2 month well check and all is well. He had an ear infection 2 weeks ago, but managed to take care of it on his own without antibiotics and they are now cleared up. He's a tough little guy. He is still sleeping great and gave me 9 1/2 hours straight the other night. He is super sweet and is becoming a lot more interactive with his smiles and cooing - especially for his daddy who always seems to get the best reactions out of him! He is getting huge and is now fitting into all of his 3-6 month clothes - he is growing up so fast...

Weight: 14# 1 oz (95%)
Head: 16 1/4 inches (85%)

With how short Cameron and I are it is rather alarming and amazing that we manage to continue to have such big kids!

Another Testament Reflections of Christ

For those of you who don't know Cameron has been working and finishing up his documentary/short film on the latest big project Another Testament, which features the artwork of Mark Mabry. This has been an awesome project to be a part of. Earlier this year we were able to travel to Honduras to do the filming with the Reflections Media Group (All those that were involved in last years project - Cameron, Clyde, Jason & Mark) It turned out amazing!

Mark's organization and execution of the project was incredible - the images are fabulous. Jason & Clyde completed the music, which they did an incredible job on with this project. I listen to it all the time in my car - its really beautiful and inspiring. Cameron's documentary film for this project is amazing! I know you think I am bias, but really you have to check it out for yourself. I have watched it countless times and I still get chills every time. He interviewed a variety of people to tell the "story" of 3rd Nephi when Christ visited the Americas and the spirit they bring to the film is amazing. I may be a bit bias, but I think I have one amazingly talented, wonderful husband.

1 Month Update

Tosh is mow 1 month old and doing great! He is a sweet little baby. he loves to be held close which I love, but my arm and shoulder disagrees. He is sleeping great now and usually wakes up only 1 time during the night between 2-4 am and goes to bed about 8:30. I just need to learn to go to bed earlier! He weighs about 12# 8oz and is getting nice and fat - I love it!! The kids are so tender with him and are very helpful with keeping him happy, letting me know when he wakes up from his nap, getting me a big glass of water when I am feeding him, and 100 other things. Now I get to just work on getting him on a good predictable schedule so I can get something done during the day other than dishes and laundry!

Taci's First Day of Preschool

A much looked forward to event by all! She has been SO patient, especially considering her best buddy (Coen) has been going to school for a month now and mom is ALWAYS feeding a new baby. I don't know who was more excited - Taci or me! She has needed this and I am glad that she has something to look forward to. My little Taci is all grown up - no more princesses, its all about Barbie now. I think she just hit a major growth spurt because she weighs almost as much as Coen - and is getting very tall. She loves ballet and dancing. And she loves her new baby brother and is my big helper.

Newport California 2009

California this year was a blast. No big surprises there! Out kids love the beach and Disneyland is always a big bonus! We were not sure if we were going to go this year because it was so close to Tosh's due date. But at 37-38 weeks pregnant we decided to make the trip - even against my Doctors advice. (Let's be honest she thought I was nuts) Cameron was amazing during the trip and because we knew we were taking a risk in going he made sure I took it easy. No long walks and no strenuous activity. Which also meant Cameron braved Disneyland by himself with two kids. Talk about an amazing husband and a dedicated daddy! We had an awesome week of vacation, the kids loved it. Cameron and I loved it. The weather was fabulous and there was no delivery!

Kindergarten Kid

Coen is officially in Kindergarten...very strange! He is loving it! I was very nervous about how he would react to all of the changes and a full day of being gone, but he has totally surprised me and is doing GREAT! Cameron took him to school the first week and he would wake up each morning happy to go and come home on the bus excited to tell us about the day. Hopefully it will continue to go smoothly as next week I start taking over the dropping off role at 8am with a newborn that hates the car and a 3 year old that typically doesn't wake up until 9am. Should be FUN! At least Coen is making it easy. His teachers name is Ms. Yoho and Coen was having a hard time remembering her name so I told him it is just like the pirate song from Disneyland...."Yo ho, yo ho a pirates life for me." He got a big kick out of that and hasn't had any problems since. Of course Star Wars was the theme of clothing and backpack selection...the boy is Jedi trained and ready to go!

Our newest addition is here! Tosh Alexander Trejo was born July 30th weighing 8lbs 8ounces and 21 inches long. I think my little boys are all going to outgrow Cameron and I by age 13! He has nice full lips like Coen, but otherwise I think he looks like his daddy. He was delivered via c-section after an unsuccessful attempt of a manual version (manually trying to rotate the baby from a breech position). So, needless to say he came out with a perfectly shaped head and has been a sweet little baby for us to love on. Taci loves to love her little brother and is very sweet and gentle with him. Coen thinks he is cute and loves the funny noises he makes. Other than a psycho sleep schedule we all seem to be adjusting to the new addition. Enjoy the pictures!

Okay so I have a few "new & continued interests" in my life...

I have ALWAYS wanted to take dance lessons...ballet has always interested me. They are so poised and graceful. I love that the dance exercises actually elongate muscles rather than compact. Pushing 5'4" I could use anything to not compact further. i love the flexibility, grace...and yes the shoes. So I am finally getting my chance. Robin, a lady in my ward is a professional - educated NY Ballet and she is doing adult lessons. I get to be a ballerina! So I know I will never be professional, but I love the exercise and I love to dance. Lessons start Tuesday night - I'm going to be so sore!!

The other dancing I'm dying to try out eventually...ballroom dancing! Seriously - it is awesome! Killer workout and they look like they are having a BLAST doing it. My kind of exercise!!! And yes I love the girls outfits! ha ha ha!

Dr. Laura. When I was little I remember my dad listening to her radio show and thinking what she had to say made sense...Fast forward 10 years after not listening to her at all and I just read two of her books. Stop Whining and Start Living & The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. Good books! I've never been a self-improvement type of reader but I would recommend these two for sure. They both have a few things I don't agree with but the underlying messages in both I totally agree with. Forget yourself and start focusing on others.

Cameron loved the title of the Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands - he asked "what am I" A plant?" HE calls me his analyst because everyday I read a story in them or a thought and it makes me think about my life/marriage and what I could do better. I feel happier. I've always known that I have a wonderful marriage and life, but its amazing how you can always improve - even something good. Frustrations may still surface, but I am trying to redirect my way of thinking. And most importantly after reading about all the screwy people out there I am realizing more and more the WONDERFUL husband I have. He is AMAZING! He is sooo loving, unselfish, fun, helpful, diverse, supportive, caring etc,etc. He is a GREAT father to our two sweet kids and does EVERYTHING for US.

The other book had less insight, but has still helped me to have a more positive and realize that my life in AWESOME! I have very LITTLE to complain or whine about it life and its been fun to see the change in myself to be happier as I've tried to 'count my many blessings"

Second interest totally unrelated but still FUN! Stiletto shoes. I love them! I really do not buy shoes for myself EVER - I wear my 1 pair of jcrew flip flops everywhere, even in the winter. but the last few years I've bought a couple of dress shoes and have found that they all have something in common - at least 3 inch stiletto heels. I must have small person syndrome or something! These latest ones have almost 5 inch heels...scary!

Last but not least...just in case you didn't know...the last book of the Twilight series is coming out tomorrow. yea - I'm excited...although I'm going to show a little self restraint and not read it till next week when Cameron is in Utah for a night so I don't completely neglect him while indulging myself. I have zero self control once I start...

California 2008

Another fabulous year in Newport! Mom and Dad are awesome for making this trip possible for all of the Trejo Family! We asked Coen which beach was his favorite Mexico or California and the reply...both of them. When questioned why he said Mexico had warmer water but California had bigger waves and Crew. And the last part of that is key - Crew. Those two have a blast together regardless of where they are or what they are doing. The trip started out with a mellow Sunday and then a Newport beach day Monday. We played all day and then Tuesday we hit Disneyland. I'll post on that later - needless to say a MAJOR HIT this year! Wednesday was bike rides and then Hunnington beach. Thursday we went to the natural beach at Crystal Cove. The kids love it there because of the increased sea life. Wall-ie that evening...Coen thought it was okay - Taci not interested. Huge cup of Sprite all over my lap and her crawling all over me the entire time left me with a not too impressed feeling with that movie. Friday we went to the beach all day and then that night did tin foil dinners on the beach with glow sticks. We had to bail early though because we stole someone else fire pit and they stood by waiting for us to finish. They weren't there to lay claim to it so what can you say huh? Saturday we went to the beach again... lots 'o beach. The kids had an absolute blast and I LOVED having Cameron with me for a whole week and half to myself!! Doesn't get much better than that!

Catch Up

So I realized after looking through some of my pictures that I forgot to post a few things that happened back in May...

We went down to the good ol' providence of Safford where I grew up to visit my family and go to my youngest brother, Daelun's high school graduation. It was fun to see him graduate and crazy to think my parents are all done with kids in school. Crazy simply because they have now been doing it for 21 plus/minus years with all nine of us! Amazing and mind boggling to think of the effort and commitment that means! Congratulations Daelun!

We were hoping to go camping up at Mt. Graham but as luck would have it we had a bizarre weather weekend and it snowed about 6 inches overnight - at the end of May! We did go up just to let the kids play in the snow and they had a blast. It was VERY wet and VERY cold, but they didn't seem to mind. We took my nieces and nephew up as well who were also visiting because my sister, Raunlyn, just had her baby girl. Busy time! Taci did not last long at all. In fact all of the girls wimped out pretty quick - but Coen and Stewart had a blast! Can you imagine if we had actually gone up the night before and set up camp? Freezing to death is NOT my idea of a good time!!!

Romantic Getaway for 2

Looks nice huh? It was a getaway.....for 2+2=family vacation in San Carlos, Mexico.

Adessa and Dodge and their family planned their family vacation and wanted us to come along. Because Cameron and I already went to NY 2 months ago and we are going to Cali in one month we couldn't pool off the 1 week stay the Billingsley Family had planned, but we did make it down there Thursday-Sunday and it was perfect! The drive was a BEAST! If everything went smoothly it really wouldn't have been so bad 6 1/2 - 7 hour trip- but construction in Tucson, construction in Mexico, tour permits, border crossing etc, etc, etc made it LONG!! The kids did really well though- thankfully! My family used to go down to San Carlos once a year and stay and I remember loving it! You're room is literally 50 feet from the water and the kids loved to spend all day on the beach. The water was warm and Coen found his inner surfer with the boogie board! Taci enjoyed a mixture of water and sand and they were both warn out by the end of the day. Cameron and I had a blast playing and just spending time together as a family! It was a ton of fun and always nice to try out something new!

Pediatric Dentist

Just took my kids in this morning to Dr. Tyler Carter's new dental office on Gilbert and the San Tan. AWESOME office. My kids loved it - cute race car theme throughout the office with cars for them to play on. If you are looking for a good kids dentist then seriously come here. Tyler has been a friend of my family's since I was a baby and we all love him! Great with kids, both of mine were nervous at first and then did just fine as he calmed them down. Go check it out!

Princess and the Pea

Okay, so my kids are strange. I promise they both have beds, nice pillow top at that, and up to this point I thought is was just Coen that was a little strange. We put him to bed at night and then go in to check on him and he is asleep on the floor, in a chair, halfway under the bed, you name it. Now Taci has started in on the phenomenon. I put her to bed in her crib for a nap and locked the door (from the outside - I had to switch the door handle around because she figured out how to unlock it and wouldn't take a nap and then turn into the wicked witch of the west about 5:00) SOMEHOW she unlocks the door - I really don't have a clue how considering I need a key kept on door frame to do it. Then I hear her in Coen's room so I just wait to see what is going to happen. Next thing I know I go into to check on her to find her asleep in Coen's closet. I don't even know what to say...

Green Goodness

When we moved into our home one of the things I loved about it was the yard...not that the yard was anything special at the time, just a lot of rock, but it allowed me to dream and imagine. And that is exactly what I have been working on since we've moved in. First a pool fence, more concrete around the pool area, side walk phase 1, laying brick for a 3rd garden bed, transplanting rose bushes, planting 7 additional trees, blackberries, grapes, 5 queen palms and other plants, sidewalk phase 2, and now GRASS. I'm trying to make it my own little oasis in the desert. More dreaming of pool house/gazebo and a mini skate ramp,and probably a few more trees and grass! Cameron is dreading our water bill :)

NYC

Cameron surprised me this year with a fabulous birthday present - a trip to New York - considering the fact that I have never been east of AZ this was a GREAT surprise! (Not to mention a much needed getaway!!) We Were there for 4 days and had an absolute blast! My mom came up and watched the kids for us so we knew they were well taken care - THANKS MOM!!!!

We did some of the touristy type things - Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Central Park carriage rides, MET museum, Time Square, etc, etc.

But I would have to say my most favorite thing about the trip wasn't the tourist stuff as much as it was just spending every minute awake and asleep with Cameron! And he was awesome and didn't do any work or business on the trip - very, VERY NICE!! I know it's hard because he always has 101 things pressuring him for his attention and time so that means all the more to me!!

We went to eat at random little places that were FABULOUS! It was cool to see Devon and she showed us a few good eats as well.

We figured out the subway system and that is how we got around - which was actually really fun looking for moles & dark seekers (note to self don't watch "I am Legend" in your NYC hotel room...not a good idea!)

Trying to figure out where in the world we were as I stare at my map...

We went to the Broadway show Wicked - very good & funny!! And we walked and walked and walked some more. This was different from our usual get aways in that it was not a relaxing trip by any means (we've always gone to the beach or Utah in the past), but it was still an awesome vacation! It was fun to do a busy vacation and can't wait for more in the future! We went shopping at the different little shops and in one we found this book that had a bunch of pictures of NY and quotes that went with them. i loved one of the quotes because to me if fit NY perfectly. IT said "Look up at buildings? Who the hell has time to look up at buildings in New York?" NY is amazingly fast paced - everyone is in a hurry and walking straight ahead without looking around - its the tourist that are the ones who are looking up, not the natives.

Christmas

This is a VERY late entry but I thought I better get around to it before next Christmas rolled around...

This year was a Trejo Christmas (with our families in two different cities we switch off every year) Christmas Eve we got together with the entire Trejo Extended Family, so all the cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Grandparents, etc and went to eat at Macayos. It was good to see everyone again its hard to get us all together at one time and especially in one place. Then we headed back to Jerry & Sally's for Christmas exchange with the kids and the white elephant with the adults which is always a blast. After that we piled all of the kids into the back of Tims truck and drove them around the neighborhood to check out Christmas lights. At that point it was way past bedtime so we headed home.

Christmas morning was an absolute BLAST. The kids were kind and let us sleep in until about 7:30 at which point I heard Coen standing at the door of our bedroom saying "mommy, mommy! Santa brought me a big boy bike!!!" The rest of the morning was a blur of wrapping paper sweet hugs and kisses from the kids as they were thrilled about each gift. I would have to say Coen loved his Optimus Prime transformer the best (thanks Aunt Becky, Uncle Casey & Mylie!) And for Taci it was love at first sight with her new pet bunny rabbit - Buck III.
We then headed back over to Jerry and Sally's home for a late breakfast (actually it was closer to noon)It was fun to see everyone and spend the day with family!

New Lights

Our entry way light was the classic undersized, gaudy-gold, something from the 80's light fixture. So I inherited a new one from a fabulous family member (thanks!!!) and had Cameron help me put the HEAVY thing up. It took awhile and my arms were killing me, but it was well worth the effort and I love my new light! Especially with all of the Christmas decor - so fun and festive!!

Thanksgiving Slave Labor

It was McRae Thanksgiving this year (Cameron and I switch off every year) and after talking to my mom back in October she wasn't sure where we were going to do it so I suggested that everyone come up to Mesa and we do Thanksgiving here and they could all help us put in a sidewalk (I have an extremely talented and well versatile family). So it was decided. We did the actual Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt Donna's and Uncle Ron's house (bless their hearts for having all of us!) Prep time for the concrete footings was Thanksgiving morning with all of the guys (really, I was just trying to work up everyone's appetite for the feast that all the girls were preparing). Then onto a yummy over the top, everything you could possibly think of to eat and then some meal at the Barney's. Fun times eating and playing on the bouncer (no pictures, we forgot our camera - but seriously 4 different veges, turkey, ham, and roast, potatoes, rice, stuffing, etc, etc, etc...it was a little insane)

The day after Thanksgiving wasn't full of holiday sales and shopping - it was a bright and early slave labor for all of the guys hauling in 5 1/2 yards of concrete off a truck in 35 minutes flat and another 4 1/2 hours of finishing the sidewalk. And the scary thing is that is just half of the project...We need another 6 yards to finish it off. We decided to split the project, much to Coen's dislike who stated that the guys couldn't leave yet because the sidewalk was not done...

Thanks to everyone who helped!!! We will let you know when we are ready for part two! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Bed Time Routine

Awhile back the kids wanted only me to put them to bed and Cameron started feeling a little left out...oh how times have changed! Cameron is now the special request and both kids throw an absolute fit if I try to weasel in to help out. This is Cameron's new method of madness. Funny thing is - I am more than happy to let him have all of the fun! Check out Taci - she can drink her bottle and pick her nose at the same tie - talk about talented!!

Well, Cameron just won his first video contest...and it was the first won he entered. Scary sometimes how much talent he has. Awhile back Cameron found out about this Panasonic contest called "Share the Air" Basically, they were wanting people to submit a 24 second clip, using skateboarding as the main theme. So, Cameron came up with a concept and then got his brother and some friends involved and they spent two Saturday mornings filming and then he edited it and submitted it...check out Cameron's blog for the e-mail he received saying he won and the link to the actual video clip...Congrats babe!

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch on Power and Elliott for FHE. It was a fun night of natural methane cow fumes, dust and the kids had a lot of fun. The McEuen's came along and the kids loved hanging out with their cousins. The loved climbing over all of the pumpkins laying everywhere and Coen LOVED the Barrel Train Ride. Good times. Reflections of Christ

Cameron has just received an awesome new calling to put together a video documentary/essay of the making of a project called the Reflections of Christ. It has been an awesome experience for Cameron to work with his super talented friend Mark Mabry, who is photographing/heading up the whole project. Check out the web site of Reflections of Christ to get all of the details on this new project that will be displayed in the Mesa Arizona Visitors Center during the Easter Pageant and then travel to other locations. Trick or Treat!

This Halloween was a fun one! About 6 months ago my dad told me that Taci reminded him of Pebbles Flinstone and that she needed to be that for Halloween - so that is exactly what we did! Taci was Pebbles and Coen was Bam-Bam. They really did fit the roles too! I went home to Safford last weekend and my mom helped me make their costumes - she is very TALENTED and can do just about everything. (thanks for your help mom!) Coen wasn't quite sure about his at first because he really wanted a shirt under his costume - we finally convinced him that he would get a lot of candy if he wore his costume and that won him over. We sprayed his hair white for the final touch. Taci's hair was sprayed red and we put a REAL chicken bone in her hair. Very authentic!! I tried looking for a dog bone and they were all HUGE so we just cooked a chicken and used that - it worked great! Coen remembered the whole idea behind trick or treating and was VERY excited about it, whereas TAci didn't have a clue. However, she figured it out really quick after the first house! AS soon as the lady put some candy in her pumpkin she looked at me and exclaimed "A NACK!!" After that she RAN to each house for her nack and said "Tick o Teet"!! It was fun being with all of the Trejo family and Coen had a blast with his cousins. Thanks to Mom and Dad Trejo for the great food and fun! I'll post some video footage a little later of the actual trick or treating. (Whoever wants me to burn a CD of the pictures let me know - there are more of the cousins that I just didn't put in the slide)

We signed Coen up for soccer and it has been very entertaining to say the least! His team consists of 3 year olds and Cameron is the coach - not by choice. He did sign up to assist, but the coach quit so Cameron got promoted. Coen loves practices because he has his own ball and loves to run around, but as soon as he gets in a competitive game situation all interest goes out the window. He doesn't have his own ball and has zero desire to chase and fight over the one 10 other kids are after. It's been pretty funny! Here are some pictures and video clip of Coen's first game. He is #3. When the game first started he came off the field and told me he was hungry so I gave him some fruit snacks - he then walked back onto the field perfectly content on snacking while the game played on around him. Then he found a big piece of grass that he found quite enchanting. Like I said it's been funny!

Every day the kids and I take a trip to the mail box (what ever happened to personal mail boxes directly in front of your house???? Seriously EVERY development needs that - not just the custom homes!) Usually, Coen rides his tricycle and Taci gets a stroller ride. Coen has outgrown his tricycle and so I decided to try out his little battery powered jeep. He drives around the backyard and does really well, but this was the first time I let him out in the open streets with it. He did great! He stayed on the sidewalk the whole time - even when he got distracted by the tires spinning or a bird he managed to stay on track. The only time I got nervous is when a car was parked by the side of the road, but even then he did great. He even stops and looks both ways for cars before we cross the street. It's really cute and Taci enjoys the entertainment. So, that's our new tradition - Coen "drives" to get the mail.

Tuesday's around the Trejo house are most definitely happening!! For the pat 1 1/2 years Brooklyn and I have been "trading off" once a week where one day I take her kids and we hang out here and she is able to run around at get everything done without the kids for a couple of hours and then on Fridays she takes my kids and I am able to do the same. It is FABULOUS!! Its fun for the cousins to play together and they all get along really well (most of the time that is, sometimes they act a little too much like siblings:) and its fun for them to have a change of pace and new toys to play with. It's worked really well and its sooooo nice to have your day off too!! One week Randi let Hudson come and play as well so we had a grand total of 6 kids ages 4 and under - it really was a blast!! Come anytime Hudson!

Long Overdue...

Okay, so I was looking at my blog and realized I had multiple posts about the kids, but not one about my Cameron. Yes MY Cameron - he is ALL MINE. I have to say that I am by far the luckiest girl alive! (Actually, my sisters and sister in laws on my side of the family really do believe this as well! ha ha ha!) When we were first married I was really quite cute and creative (if I do say so myself) and wrote Cameron a list of 101 things that I loved about him. What is amazing is I could easily double that list now if I sat down and took a minute to do it. He really is an amazing person and I truly do feel blessed every day to have him in my life. In everything he does he is always thinking of me and the kids. I remember when we first got married my little sister asked us if we ever got bored of each other. - The answer to that is most definitely NO! There is always something new and at times even crazy happening and it keeps life entertaining! If I had to narrow my list down to 10 things I loved about Cameron - VERY hard to do I might add - I think they would have to be (in no particular order):

1. His love for me. He always treats me like I am the most wonderful, beautiful person ever - even when I am being a terd or haven't taken a shower in a couple of days...
2. The AMAZING dad he is. He loves the kids and they love him!! He will get down and play with them and interact with them on such a different level than I ever think to do.
3. His dedication to the gospel. He is always willing to serve and do whatever he is asked to do. I love that I can ask him to give our kids a Father's blessing and he is always able to do it. I always want to be better just because I see his love and dedication to the gospel.
4. His work ethic. I thought I was a hard worker until I met Cameron. He is so dedicated to providing for his family and enjoys doing it. I love being married to someone who values work and knows how to do it. So many people don't have a clue how to really work hard and Cameron isn't satisfied until a job is complete. He is a great provider for our family and has made it possible for me to stay home and raise our family.
5. His fun loving personality. He may be 29 years old but anyone who meets him for the first time thinks he is closer to 20. Okay really 16. He not only looks young (seriously he still gets carded for buying me spray paint) but he has such a love for life that he can't help act like a boy sometimes!
6. His various hobbies and interests. I think that his well-rounded nature is one of the things that helps keep our life entertaining. He has so many hobbies and interests - and what is scary is he is really good at all of them - and I enjoy that he has made me a part of them. Everything from snowboarding - to golfing - to mac computers. One day I hope to get him into one of my interest....ball room dancing!!! ha ha ha!!!
7. His thoughtfulness. So after 6 1/2 years of being married he still surprises me with flowers or buys me a new shirt or pants. He is always leaving me sweet little notes with my eyeliner on my mirror so when I wake up I will see it. He gives me a kiss in the morning when he leaves for work - even though I am still crashed in bed. He is always stopping me in the hallway to give me a hug or a little kiss. He is always being thoughtful of all of those "little things" as we call it.
8. His video business. Okay so not so much the business itself but everything about it. To me this business tells a lot about Cameron. He is so determined and so internally motivated. He has built this company up from scratch (it was a bit scary at first) has taught himself everything he knows about the cameras, programs, computers, lighting, etc. and once again is very good at what he does. I enjoy watching him grow and watching this business grow from its inception.
9. His willingness to help. He is always helping me around the house - I never have to nag about anything because he anticipates my needs, the kids needs, everyones needs and then takes the initiative to do them before I realize it even needed to be done. Even cleaning the toilets and mopping the floor!
10. He takes care of his body. When we were dating we would go work out together and we still go running together as a family and try to stay in shape. How grateful I am that he cares about himself and me an our family to stay healthy! And he is still HOT!
11. He values everything I do. Even when I feel my life is somewhat mundane he always expresses his gratitude for everything I do from doing laundry, decorating the house, raising our kids, cooking meals, supporting him. He makes me feel like my successes and his successes are one in the same.
12. How much I love him. I remember my mom asking me after we were married if I was happy, and I remember telling her that I had no idea that being married would be so amazing! I love being married to this man and sharing my life with him. He truly is my greatest blessing!

Okay , so I couldn't limit it to even 10! I am truly one lucky girl!

What could make a parent more proud than to watch their kids beat each other up. Taci can be a feisty little bugger sometimes and she loves to pick on Coen. She pulls his hair, hits him, pinches him - whatever she can do just to get a reaction out of him. And it works - Coen screams like a girl every single time. He is so sweet and gentle he never fights back but times have changed. So while we were in Cali she started at it again and we told Coen to just wrestle her - to roll her over and get her. And that is exactly what he did - and next thing you know they are both wrestling, laughing and thinking that it was hilarious. Cameron and I thought so too. So here are some different clips of our kids wrestling...it strangely reminds me of when I was growing up with 8 siblings...

The Happiest Place on Earth

This year we took the kids to Disneyland for the first time - they loved it!!! They were there with all of their Trejo cousins, which of course made it even better - if that is possible. They were both a little skeptical on some of the rides (Rodger Rabbit & Pinocchio completely freaked them out), and their favorite was of course - It's a Small Word. After that ride Coen wanted to go back and wasn't at all interested in any other the other rides we went on, until we were actually on it and then he was okay again.

After lunch we headed over to California Adventure and the kids were revived with the little water park there. They both were soaking wet and loving every minute of it. We stayed for the Pixar Parade which they both sat through mouths agape the entire time!! After that we headed home. The rest of the group had more endurance (Brooklyn and her kids were amazing!) and stayed for the big Disney Parade, but our kids were done. Coen was asking to go back to the beach house and after Taci fell out of her stroller - head first - on to the sidewalk we decided that we would call it a day. Needless to say both kids fell asleep that night at 7:00pm and slept all night long.

Alright. I am FINALLY getting around to posting about California this year. What can I say - everyday since we have been home I have been totally depressed with the AZ weather, lack of greenery, lack of constant entertainment for the kids that I had to crawl up on my couch for two weeks, completely ignore my family and devour an entire sequel of books totaling over 1880 pages. Okay that was all just a good excuse to escape reality - I am just a book nerd and couldn't put the stupid things down!!

California was GREAT! The kids had an absolute BLAST this year. So far this has been the best year for our family. Both kids were old enough to play on their own - no babies to try and take care of. That is all we did all week was play - and every night we all went to bed exhausted from the days events.

Before we left I had made the worst mistake a mother can possibly ever make and told Coen that we were going to the beach...2 months before the fact and literally heard about it EVERY single day from that point until we left. We had a special calendar that Coen got to mark off each day until it finally arrived. Even Taci knew something exciting was happening and learned how to say 'beach" even with her limited vocabulary.

The kids did awesome on the drive and when they finally hit the sand they were running full speed and didn't stop until it was time to go back to the resort each night. Both Coen and Taci are "outdoorsy kids" and where better than a place filled with sand and wanter and sun? They especially loved the little sand crabs that Cameron would dig up. They would get a bucket and collect them and play with them until they were dead - lovely! They both loved the beach - even Disneyland (I'll post later) which they loved, didn't compare with the beach!!

The last day we were there we starting prepping Coen for the return trip home. We told him that in a few days it would be time to go and he asked why. Cameron told him that other people needed to stay at the "beach house" (that's what Coen called it) and so we needed to go home so they could go to the beach too. That was just not an acceptable answer so Cameron tried again. He told Coen that he had to go back to work so that he could make so more money so we could come back to the beach house again next year. Coen had a solution for that too. He told his daddy that he could have all of the money out of his money jar (Coen collects all of the change he finds and puts it in a jar in his room) so we could stay at the beach house for another week.

Now that we are home - a sure fix to crazy moments when the kids start fighting is to turn on the Cali footage and they both sit in front of the TV eyes wide open and mouths agape. Brilliant!! A great vacation - and a big thanks to Jerry & Sally for making the Marriott available to all of us! One of my favorite things about this vacation is that EVERYBODY is there. The entire Trejo Clan with all of the little kids are together and everyone has a blast - great memories and great times...

My favorite picture this year is actually not even of my own kids (Taci on the rock with her tongue sticking out is a close second) - I love the picture of Zack! It's a great picture - I should go into photography and then Cameron and I could do weddings as a full service wedding team! Ha ha ha! yeah right! There should only be one computer/techy nerd in each family for balance- I will stick to my books!!

Puffer Fish

One of my favorite things about our move into our new house is having a pool! This summer has been so nice to be able to walk outside and jump in our pool whenever we want. I am convinced that everyone who lives in this HOT HOT HOT place needs a pool!! Or have very easy access to one - everyone is more than welcome to use ours anytime - consider it your friendly, non-pee filed neighborhood pool!
Coen has been the one who loves it the most. He loves to swim - even if it is just a quick 30 minute dip. His enthusiasm is quite contagious and usually the whole family is joining him. I've been really impressed with how well he has learned to swim. At the beginning of summer he refused to swim without "wings" (arm floaties). But one day he took them off and said "dad, watch me" and them jumped in and swam to his dad. Cameron and I were super surprised and ever since them he has become our little puffer fish. He can swim the entire length of the pool now, swim to the bottom, and do "triple whips" off the side. Its been fun to watch how much he has learned all on his own in just a couple of months, and the best part is he totally loves it!

When we were at Costco today I saw a package of little girl underwear and due to Taci's sudden interest in underwear/toilets I thought it might be a good idea to have them on hand in case she decides she ready to start toilet training... Anyway, we get home and I open the package up and give them to her and glance over her way a few minutes later to see 4 pairs of them on her head and her struggling with the 5th and 6th pair. I tried to put a pair over her diaper and she was totally ticked off at me - obviously my 20 month old feels I am completely out of fashion and underwear is suppose to go on your head now...

VIVA LAS VEGAS

Cameron had a wedding video shoot for a couple in Vegas so he bought me a ticket and we decided to make a little weekend getaway out of it. I had never stayed in Vegas before so it was fun - and crazy! We stayed at the Venetian - super nice! We didn't have a whole lot of time to do stuff because the various shoots took most of the time but we did manage to hit the slots (we added a whole $1 to the casino industry), grab some dinner, and go to a couple of movies. So all in all a good break from the usual routine thanks to Mom and Dad Trejo watching the kids for us, and fun times spent with Cameron!

I just read a comment on Cameron's blog www.eastvalleyproductions.com where he said I was more inconsistent than he was on his blogging - so now I am motivated...

here is my new site, my first entry, and I did it all on my own! (Not that the last part is very impressing to most but when you have a computer geek for a husband, I say that in the most affectionate way - you tend to let them do all of the work...)

A NACK

Taci is my eater (unlike her older brother who would have likely starved to death by now if not forced to eat at least an occasional meal...) Taci loves to eat...ALL OF THE TIME. She will stop whatever she is doing for a nack (her word for snack) and EVERYTHING is a nack. I made boiled eggs for breakfast (Coen's request) and when Taci woke up I gave her one. A few minutes later I looked over to see Coen hadn't touched his and Taci had stuffed the entire thing in her mouth and was just sitting there totally content with herself. I don't know which I prefer more - a kid who has to be forced to eat and even then I have to still feed it to him or a kid that eats everything in sight and all in one mouthful...
